Barnier
is Celebrating Book Week in 2010 with the theme Across
the Story Bridge!
Reading is a great
way to encourage children to learn about the world around
them, and to improve their learning
by extending their breadth of vocabulary, their ability
to recognise and spell words, and broaden their descriptive
language.
The events during our 2010 Book Week
will be:
Monday 23rd August
Story Fiesta Yr 6Storytelling to Barnier students
Book Fair opens 8am
Tuesday 24th August
Classes visit Book Fair
Wednesday 25th August
Character Parade at 9.30am in the COLA
Family Picnic Recess
Book Fair closes at 1pm
Thursday 28th August
Theatrical book performance for Kindy to Year 6
This year to celebrate reading during
Book Week all students will be invited to come to school
dressed as a character from
a book they have recently read. It could a character from
39 Clues, ZAC Power, the Schooling Around series, Harry
Potter, Tashi, a Roald Dahl title, Girl Power
or many others.
We would love for all parents to attend
our Book Week Celebration to see all of the Barnier students
dressed
as a character from a recently read book and then share a
family recess in the playground.
